ENVIRONMENTAL SIMULATION
Damp Heat Testing
In today’s global marketplace, products are often exposed to a wide range of environmental conditions. From tropical humidity to scorching heat, these variables can significantly impact a product’s reliability and performance. Damp heat testing is one of the most effective ways to evaluate how well a product can endure such demanding environments. Used extensively in industries like electronics, automotive, aerospace, and materials science, this test provides crucial insights into product durability and lifecycle performance.Damp heat testing is an environmental test method used to simulate prolonged exposure to high temperature and high humidity. The goal is to replicate real-world conditions where moisture, heat, and time combine to degrade materials, components, and systems. These tests are particularly important for products intended for use in humid regions or outdoor environments, such as coastal areas, rainforests, or industrial sites.

Why is Damp Heat Testing Important?
- Enhanced Product Reliability
- Material Degradation Assessment
- Electronic Component Testing
- Compliance with Industry Standards
- Improved Product Lifecycle and Warranty Confidence

SPECIFICATIONS & CAPABILITIES
Test Methodology, Role & Chamber Specifications
There are typically two types of damp heat tests used to observe how thermal expansion, condensation, and moisture ingress affect the product over time:
TEST TYPES
Steady-State & Cyclic Testing
Steady-State Damp Heat Test: In this test, the product is exposed to a constant temperature and humidity level—commonly 85°C and 85% relative humidity—for a specified period (often 500 or 1000 hours).Cyclic Damp Heat Test: This version simulates fluctuating environmental conditions, where temperature and humidity are varied cyclically to observe how thermal expansion, condensation, and moisture ingress affect the product over time.
ROLE OF THE TEST CHAMBER
Stability & Consistency
The performance and accuracy of damp heat testing rely heavily on the capabilities of the test chamber. A high-quality test chamber ensures repeatable, stable conditions for consistent test results. These specifications are ideal for most standard product sizes and test requirements. Chambers with these capacities can accommodate various product types, from small circuit boards to full-size enclosures or assemblies.
