Chemical Testing Laboratory
Chemical Test is conducted to verify the resistance of the front plastic cover and logo of the Device Under Test (DUT) when subjected to isopropanol wiping under simulated user conditions. Leading chemical testing labs like ATS Test Lab ensure product durability and surface integrity in real-world cleaning and usage scenarios.
Parameter | Value |
---|---|
Chemical | Isopropanol (IPA), 99% purity |
Sweep Speed | 100 sweeps per minute |
Total Cycles | 200 sweeps |
Test Duration | 2 minutes |
Contact Pressure | Simulate normal manual wiping pressure (~1–2 N) |
Fabric Type | Cotton cloth (as per ISO 11998 or ASTM D4828) |
Target Area | Front plastic surface and logo |
- Mount DUTs securely in the holding fixture to prevent any movement during the sweep process.
- Program the sweeping machine to perform 200 sweeps at 100 sweeps/min.
- Ensure the sweeping arm maintains consistent contact pressure on the DUT surface.
- Start the sweeping process. Monitor for cloth position or chemical evaporation.
- After the test, power should remain off while inspecting for physical degradation.
After test completion, visually and tactically inspect the DUTs for:
Defect Type | Criteria |
---|---|
Blisters Surface | Must remain flat and intact |
Bubbles | No formation of air pockets under surface |
Corrosion | No rust or chemical attack on surfaces |
Logo Damage | Logo must remain legible and unpeeled |
Standards Followed in Our Chemical Lab Testing:
- ISO 2812-1:2017
- ISO 11998
- ASTM D4828
- IEC 60068-2-70
Note: Standards have been adapted to fit the specific context of plastic surface chemical resistance and cosmetic logo durability testing.
